What now!

Getting this blog started has been a work in progress for me for at least the past 10 years, actually longer. I got the idea just after I retired with the thoughts of using my experiences, to reach out, chat , share & talk to others about anything & everything. This boy from Brooklyn I discovered had a lot to say & a desire to share with people not just like me, but people in general. offrom my life as a construction electrician in the GREATEST city in the world, NEW YORK CITY (more on that later)

There are 2 things I learned quickly when gravitating into my new life as a retiree, either sit back, watch TV & get fat or re-motivate yourself to live each & every day to the fullest & happiest possible. Getting a part time job at the local Home Depot got me out of the house, but also got me talking & sharing things with others that I realized I enjoyed

The key to sharing things isn’t waiting for that perfect moment; it’s starts with a thought that’s in your head, what you have to say & who you’d think these stories will resonate with. A bit of history is always important so, buckle up, let’s go.

It wasn’t the triangle I was given in kindergarten class, NO, or the violin my father thought would be great for me to play, NO! With me it started with the TV. Going back to the early 1960s, I was lucky enough to have a TV in the small bedroom that I shared with my older sister. Low & behold, early shows like American Bandstand featuring DICK CLARK started getting my interest. His show came out of the NYC area & I remember seeing music acts that really got my attention, but also getting CLAY COLE programming that came out of Philadelphia really started to change my direction. I clearly remember seeing DUANE EDDY rockin’ that guitar to REBEL ROUSER, and that was all I needed to see, THAT’S what I wanted to do!

I started using an old tennis racquet & made believe it was my guitar.

Once I seriously starting writing, which came in the form of music, I was hooked something I wanted to say, something specific, something that reaches others.

You don’t need to be fearless to reach your goals, you just need to be willing. Willing to try, willing to learn, and willing to believe that you’re capable of more than you know. The road may not always be smooth, but growth rarely is. What matters most is that you keep going, keep learning, and keep believing in the version of yourself you’re becoming.
